Do the maths before the trade.
Two calculators every swing trader uses: how many shares to buy, and whether the reward is worth the risk.
- CalculatorPosition size calculatorPosition size is how many shares to buy so that, if your stop-loss is hit, you lose only the amount you planned. The formula: shares = (capital × risk %) ÷ (entry − stop-loss). With ₹2,00,000, 1% risk, entry ₹500 and stop ₹480, you'd buy 100 shares.Open the calculator
- CalculatorRisk-reward calculatorThe risk-reward ratio compares what you could lose with what you could gain on one trade. Risk is entry minus stop-loss; reward is target minus entry. Buy at ₹500 with a stop at ₹480 and a target at ₹540, and you risk ₹20 to make ₹40: a ratio of 1 : 2.Open the calculator
New to this? The calculators are steps 10 and 11 of the swing trading course.
